Cerakote is a ceramic polymer coating that delivers industry leading durability, hardness, scratch and corrosion resistance, and flexibility — that also allows us to layer colors without adding any measurable material or weight. That means no decals as our frame graphics can be sprayed any color in the Daylight Spectrum, and that means some 500 different two-color combinations and even more mutlicolored designs
Thin film technology also means we can coat almost any bike part — from stems, bars and forks to cranks, spokes and even spoke nipples — adding protection and not an ounce more while giving your bike that very special Daylight Look!

CERAKOTE IS AN INCREDIBLY DURABLE, SUPER LIGHTWEIGHT CERAMIC FINISH DEVELOPED FOR MILITARY GRADE ARMAMENTS — AND NOW, DAYLIGHT RACE FRAMES AND BIKES.
Determined to build a USA made frame that would have aluminum’s superior riding characteristics while still being as stiff and light as carbon, we selected Cerakote because it is both significantly lighter and more abrasion resistant than traditional finishes. But that’s only the start — ceramic’s low surface tension also allows precise adjustment of our sliding vertical drop-outs for the straightest, smoothest chain-line. That means quicker starts and faster finishes! It’s the perfect teaming of form and function that we call performance art for the BMX race world.

THE DAYLIGHT SPECTRUM
With a nearly limitless pallet of ceramic colors from which to choose, if you can imagine it we can probably paint it. If you can’t imagine it or there are just too many colors for you to decide, then let us help. Think of us as your personal bicycle design agency, focusing our years of professional design experience onto the BMX world and your frame project. For complete bike projects, we work personally with you to develop a full design concept — outlining every part and color selection down to the smallest details. We’re assuming you’ve see our builds.
DECAL FREE GRAPHICS
While it might seem simple enough, the Daylight ceramic paint process requires real expertise and time — with our two-color frames requiring about 4 hours to finish. Here’s the process: The frame is media blasted then air cleaned. The graphics coat and frame parts are sprayed, then oven cured. Excess paint is removed, heat-resistant stencils are applied, and the primary coat sprayed — followed by another round in the oven after which the frame is hung to cool. Lastly, the stencils are peeled and the frame hand-buffed to perfection. And that’s all for a simple two-color frame. Is it worth it? Of course, it’s a Daylight — and it’s yours!
CUSTOM LOGOS & DESIGNS
Here’s where we get really creative, blending more complex stenciling, air brushing, distressing, and other techniques to produce frames and bikes that could only wear the Daylight badge. No doubt you’ve seen a few of our now signature designs — from our legendary battle-Worn American flags, multi-colored camouflages, and out of this world galaxy frames to our bold cartoon designs, exotic animal prints, and classic race car liveries. Own one or something all your own, from the one BMX race bike builder willing and able to make your dream a reality.
METALLICS & SIGNATURE FINISHES
As amazing as our standard ceramic painted frames look and perform, we also offer solid color and chameleon (color-shifting) metallic ceramics for richer, more complex finishes. When it comes to Corben Sharrah’s Olympic frames, however, these demand something truly special and partnering with our team member at Rickey White Designs we created our Turned frame series—guilloche and wave etched jeweled beauties. With RWD, we also conceptualize and create hand-painted masterpieces. You won’t know whether to ride your Daylight or hang it on the wall!
CUSTOM CERAMIC PAINTED PARTS
When we first discovered the possibilities we could achieve with ceramic coatings, we still limited our initial offering to a few dozen color combinations — because we were thinking like everyoine else in the bike industry who mass produce frames primarily overseas and can only offer a handful of colors. But we quickly realized there was no point in limiting ourselves or our customers and that number grew to over 500 readily available color combinations. “So can you paint my cranks?”, a customer asked. We wish we could say it was our idea but we did instantly see what could be created — fully customized bikes with ceramic painted parts to match or compliment the full build concept. These custom builds have come to define and distinguish Daylight worldwide.
BRADY O’NEIL’S DISTRESSED ‘EVEL ONE’ BIKE
Brady’s bike is a case study in possibilities. We started with an authentic Evel One concept — a line of stars marching across a blue field, accentuated with red pin-striping, then added gold Daylight graphics and frame parts. Finally, the frame was finished with a distressed blacking to give it that vintage moto look.
