In three words – light, lively, versatile.
The Reward is designed to play. The first thing you notice when you throw a leg over is how light and poppy it feels. This isn’t because the bike is light – although it is. The Z-link and pivot positioning have been engineered to enhance your ability to manual, pump, and hop while maintaining a super plush ride.
PICK YOUR POISON
Using the adjustable chainstay length and BB drop flip-chip, the Reward can be set up as a 160-170mm mullet enduro or 140/150mm 29er trail bike. You can even slam it down to a 140/140mm 27.5″ slalom ripper.

The ride is the Reward
There’s something uniquely rewarding about riding a mountain bike that feels light, agile, and perfectly tuned to your body. Every pedal stroke translates into motion with almost no wasted effort—you feel connected to the terrain, floating over roots and rocks rather than fighting against them. A lightweight, responsive bike gives you that “alive” feeling, where control and confidence merge into pure flow. Climbing feels easier, cornering sharper, and descending more intuitive—like the bike is reading your mind.
The real magic comes when that same bike can adapt to whatever kind of ride you’re in the mood for. With a few quick adjustments you can turn the same machine from a slalom racer into a downhill charger or a trail rig built for long days in the saddle. That versatility means you’re never limited by the bike; instead, you’re free to chase different experiences, explore new trails, and evolve as a rider without switching setups.
Owning a bike like that deepens your connection to the sport. It rewards your input with precision and performance, but it also invites creativity—pushing you to experiment, refine, and grow. You start to appreciate not just the ride itself, but the fine balance of engineering and intuition that makes it possible. Every ride becomes a reminder of what a well-designed, versatile mountain bike can do: make every climb more efficient, every descent more thrilling, and every mile more meaningful.
Conceived in Crested Butte
BORN ON THE CALIFORNIA GOLD COAST. I grew up in Crested Butte, Colorado, riding the first wave of mountain biking on rugged trails that tested every ounce of skill and courage. Those early days were raw and unfiltered—steel frames, thumb shifters, and a fearless curiosity that shaped how I saw riding and adventure. Years later, I moved to Southern California, trading alpine passes for sun-soaked streets, and got my kids hooked on BMX, passing on the same love of two wheels I had grown up with. Watching them race, learn, and fall in love with riding reminded me of the joy and freedom bikes can bring. Eventually, that pull to the mountains brought me back to Crested Butte, reconnecting with the trails and the feeling that first sparked everything. With 10 years of American fabrication under our belt, Daylight Cycles is ready to introduce the Reward. An ultra-versatile trail/enduro, designed and manufactured here on the California Gold Coast and inspired by mountains, trails, and epic rides in Crested Butte. – Richard Huvard

Why the Reward has Pop
Our well-placed pivot, near vertical axle path, and the Z-link create an optimized anti-squat dynamic and a smooth consistent leverage curve that only ramps up the progression at the end. This allows riders to actually push through the pedals to pump through jumps, rollers, and berms while the suspension is fully active. This is why the Reward feels so light and easy to lift, pop, and pump.
Why the Reward’s so plush
The near vertical axle path creates an extremely nuetral platform so you can get the most out of a well-tuned shock. A robust 3:1 leverage ratio and a ‘high’ pivot point just above where the chain meets the chainring ensures consistent, durable performance with minimal chain growth.
the Z-LINK
The ultra-compact Zen Link is the heart of the beast. It’s comprised of six bearings, four pivots, our BB height flip-chip, and titanium and aluminum hardware – all within a three and a half inch radius to keep the bike stiff and solid. The Z-link gives the Reward its 3:1 leverage ratio.
Adjustable Dropouts
The Reward dropouts feature two titanium chainring bolts that allow for three chainstay lengths – 426, 434, or 442mm.
The Flip-Chip
More adjustability. A single bolt allows you to drop the bottom bracket 8-10mm and slack out your head tube angle by half a degree.

UDH Ready
The Universal Derailluer Hanger standard is a huge step forward in durability and we’re all about that. Use a UDH derailluer or a regular derailluer with a SRAM adapter. Comes with a 12 x 174 x P1.0 thru-axle and a SRAM adapter.
