PROPRIETARY HYDROFORMED TUBING
Our Mondo hydroformed 6061-T6 tube set is not easy to build with. Compared to the simple round tube frames that comprise the bulk of the market, the Mondo’s unique tube shapes require purpose-built fixtures to hold them during the coping/cutting and fitting process. It’s an exacting process that takes 5 times longer compared to any round tube bike. Why all the tech talk? Because for cruiser to be this light and strong, ours is the best material and best way to build it. Yes, it does cost more than the standard cruiser choices out there, but as the only U.S. built hydroformed BMX style cruiser, it’s as strong and rides as good as it looks.
DIME STACKED AMERICAN WELDING
This is truly a dying art form in the bike world, but at Daylight we conttinue to demand hand built perfection. No ground smooth welds or thick paint to hide our process as our thin ceramic coatings reveal one precision dime stacked weld after another. Even more critical is what’s beneath those welds — less than 1mm of gap between tube junctions for unmatched strength that also builds unwavering confidence.
DERAILLEUR READY SLIDING DROP-OUTS
The simplest design solution is often the best. Such was the case with our modular sliding BMX drop-outs that we modified for the Timeline — from an open vertical drop-out to a closed 12mm thru axle design that incorporates a drive-side derailleur hanger. This way the bike can still function as a true single-speed with integrated 4mm titianium tensioner screws to take up chain slack just like our BMX frames. Or, with an added rear cassette, dearailleur and shifter, the Timline transforms from a convential dirt jumper to a 4X/dual slalom multi-speed trail racer! And there is still room to slide the axle position fore and aft so you can dial in your desired wheelbase. A few minutes and a few turns of the wrench and the Timline is a whole other bike!
CERAMIC PAINTED FRAME PARTS
You’ve seen it certainly and if you’re made it to this point we’re assuming it caught your eye. We call it the Daylight Look — our clean two-color ceramic paint design where the color of the frame parts are painted to match the frame graphics or integrated into a more complex frame/bike design concept. In addition to our machined sliding vertical drop outs, both our machined quick release seat clamp and premium tapered sealed beairng headset also come ceramic painted with every frame.
VERSATILE HUB SPACING
It might look like an oversized BMX bike and ride like one as well — quick and agile —but the Mondo can can also be set up as a multi-speed bike with its 12mm rear thru axle and 142mm rear hub spacing. Use our standard BMX dropouts for single speed, or swap them out for a 12mm thru-axle with a rear cassette and rear derailleur. It’s a BMX bike. It’s a Multi-speed Bike. It’s a cruiser. It’s the Mondo — whatever fun bike you want it to be!

Timeline frames come in Youth (Expert) and Adult (ProXL). Each frame is welded from premium aluminum hydroformed tubing and CNC machined parts and comes with an integrated sealed headset, sealed bottom bracket, quick-release seat clamp, sliding vertical drop-outs, internal cable routing, integrated disc brake and chain guide mounts.
